German Pioneer Corps (Der Deutsche Vortrupp) A small German-Jewish organisation with an ultra-national German slant Its leader, Hans Joachim Schoeps believed, during the first few years of Nazi rule, that the patriotic Jews of Germany, as distinct from the Zionists and the "Ostjuden", would manage to find a place within the new Nazi order. The Corps attempted to negotiate with the Nazis and failed to make headway; Schoeps emigrated to Sweden in 1938.
